Finally back on the wagon

Yep, I did it again, fell off the wagon and put back on the weight. Past year was really rough. My mother-in-law was terminally ill and I went to stay with them to tend to her needs and help my father-in-law who wasn't coping really well. All during the holidays. It was so emotionally draining. So what do you do? COMFORT FOOD!! And exercise? Ha--who had time? My life was in chaos trying to keep the family together. She died Dec 30, 2009 and the next few months were tied up with trying to get my father-in-law settled and through his days. Then another family crisis on my side of the family required more of my attention and care and more family visiting. And what do you do when family visits? COMFORT FOOD!!! By the time May 2010 rolled around I felt like a blimp. I had a long talk with myself and said--"Lynn, you have to do something!!" Get back to healthy eating and fitness. Of course I went back to Spark People. I knew if I could get back to tracking food and fitness I could get some of the weight off and feel better again. So here I am--one month down and I won some trophies and lost some weight. Not a lot but enough to keep motivated and keep on working hard. Why does it always seem easier in the summer when you can get outside and walk etc? And of course my dog loves it--she sees me getting my pedometer and she's excited waiting at the door for our walk. My loyal faithful companion. Never criticizes, always ready. So thanks again Spark People, for being there when I needed you, and helping me get back to basics. I love this site. I'm going to keep working, step by step, little at a time...it's working!!!!!!!
