Day 5: Discouragement Sets in

Friday, July 02, 2010

I have been trying to maintain a positive outlook but today is a rough one. My thyroid is fine but my weight is still so much of a struggle. Today is one of those pity party days. I just don't want every day to be such a fight.

You're doing great! My scales aren't moving right now either. But I have every confidence our scales will come to their senses soon! Hang in there! emoticon

Seriously hide the scale. I made my DH take mine away and I only get it back on Monday for my weigh in. You can't get discouraged over daily fluctuations. It happens. It's normal. We're here to support you!

I too am going to weigh in on the scale thing. Everyone IS different - but I would NEVER have been able to hang if I had weighed every day. It just doesn't work for me. Once a week was what worked best for me.
It takes some time to figure out what will work best for you. Again - Everyone is different.
Make small changes...and don't expect big losses all at once. I don't know how much exercise/fitness you have been getting but when I started....I was getting NONE!! Now - I move a lot more and I think that helps with metabolism. For years all my friends told me that they were sure I had a thyroid problem. But - every thyroid test came back fine. Now - 10 months after joining SP and making ME a priority in my life - I am much lighter, much healthier and much happier. And I am just your average joe.....If I can do it - anyone can. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!
Today was a bad day - tomorrow will be better. Don't expect miracles immediately - just be willing to keep on keeping on!!
    I have faith in you.

No Bianca! Please give Spark a chance. I'm guessing you're a bit tired and that is always good for coloring things gloomy. Start a sleep streak for getting at least seven hours every night. And really it's better not to weigh yourself every day. Make a date for the end of July. Seriously. If you follow SP's guidelines I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised next time you weigh in emoticon
