Pastry Instructor and Diet...Bad Combo

Made it through today.

I teach beginning baking at a local community college and this was their first night in the kitchen. Cookies...My downfall. They made both Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip, while the class in the Food Prep kitchen next to us made Chicken Fingers and French Fries. Boy was it all tempting. I drink several glasses of water to fill up my stomach and had a piece of gum. It is hard to resist when everyone is offering you food and the whole kitchen is filled with the aroma of fresh baked cookies. But I did.

When I got home I rewarded myself with some carrot sticks, no fat ranch dip, and 3 vanilla wafers. At 1335 calories for the day and proud of myself. emoticon

    Thanks for the words of encouragement, ladies. And Jem, I do believe you are right, taking some fruit with me would help a lot. Something sweet while they enjoy their pastries is probably just the ticket.

    What a great job you did. Hooray for you! Perhaps you might want to bring some fresh fruit or vegetable with you to class to eat while they eat the pastry.
