Jobless = hungry!

Monday, June 07, 2010

Well, I am back. I lost my job at the end of April, and ever since then I have been eating whatever I want, and exercising zip. I gained only a few pounds that I lost when I was 100% focused, but I think I am ok now enough to where I can concentrate on me again. I was heart broken when I was let go by my company, I had given them so much and for what in return? A layoff. Lovely. So now I am looking for another job which is nearly impossible due to the recent oil spill in the gulf...my background is oil and gas. But, I am taking it one day at a time and applying to new positions daily. I am enjoying being a stay at home mom with my son and being a housewife, just don't want to get used to it. I am tired...tired of being fat, being jobless, being a not as happy wife, I'm just tired. I am hoping to get back to the way I was once this weight is off...uh... emoticon

    It's easy to slip a bit when life isn't going well. We ALL do it. Don't be too hard on yourself. You can do this... One day at a time...heck..one mouthfull at a time...one step at a time.

    It is amazing how outside forces can change everything. I know when I quit my job and follow my husbands career and moved to another state those three years were hard on me. Not only did I have a baby but the only job I had was staying with the kids. I loved every moment of staying witht he kids but it does do a little damage to your self esteem when you go from working in a courtroom to your responsiblities are making sure everyone has a clean pullup. I have a degree in law and I was either staying at home or teaching 3 year olds at the military daycare center. Don't get me wrong I loved the three years I spent giving my children the one on one attention but my self esteem went out the window while my waste line expanded.

    Good luck with your job hunt. While you are out of work, make losing weight your job and focus your 8 hour days into being healthy and exercising. That way when you go on your job interviews your look hot. ha ha!

    Don't lose hope! Setbacks are hard to deal with, but just remember, every minute of every day is an opportunity. All those excess mental pounds (worries) all too easily translate into physical ones, I know. Hang in there!
