Happy Memorial Weekend Everyone. I spent 3 and 1/2 hours in the garden this morning working in a Benevolent Garden at the Field of Faith Comunity Garden. We had about 15 gardeners all working toward a common goal with high hopes of bushels of fresh produce dropped off at the Comunity Pantry and the Salvation Army in the fall for those who need a hand.
We had volunteers from mid 60s to their teens. We had 5 teenagers court ordered to be there for their comunity service. All willing good workers.
Its a good feeling inside to know you are doing for someone else even if they don't know about it. During those moments of digging and planting your problems go away and your focus is on others and all is good. You are living in the moment and enjoying one moment at a time. Gardening is really good for the soul.
