Hey everyone,

I hope you are well. Its been a while since I've blogged. As you can imagine from my previous entries, its been a tough time for me. I've decided to change jobs and my dissertation topic. My official interview (for the same job...the first was moreso informational) is tomorrow. I have a meeting next week to see about a new dissertation topic. Over the past 3 weeks, I've gone from 6 workouts to 3-4 workouts per week, mostly strength training. I've also done more eating casually, not as strict. While my weight went up by 4 pounds, I steadily lost fat...imagine that! I also am now back within .2 pounds of the weight I was at before I started gaining those few extra pounds. Incredible, I say! I've also started run/walking again, as of yesterday (that may have helped!).

I'm thrilled to say that lifting weights consistently for the past 10 weeks (I can't believe its been that long!) along with challenging myself with different forms of cardio has left me feeling much more endurance and strength as a runner. My doctor checked out my ankle on Monday and said everything looks good. I'm starting out slowly, but even with running and walking, my average yesterday was a 12:30 mile. That is awesome for me!!!

No day is perfect..the past few weeks have been stressful and rough. But this is the fruit of NEVER GIVING UP!!! If you have an off week, let it be. Do what you feel like you can do, give what you feel like you can give.. once you start, you may be surprised by how far you are actually able to go!! Live life one day at a time.

Lastly, the prospect of losing my job forced me to rethink my finances.. the one place I spend the most is eating out. I have been planning my meals before my grocery trips.. which has honestly reined in my eating. I still enjoy treats, but there seems to be a sense of moderation. For example, I won't bring anything larger than 8oz. of ice cream home.. I either have to go out and get it, or buy one of the single serving cups in the store. That helps a lot!

Body Sculpting Bible for Women (doing the break-in routine for 12 weeks.. 2 more weeks to go.. then on to the 14-day body sculpting workout!!)

    Keep us posted on the changes. Sounds like your attitude is centered and wise. emoticon People wonder why I don't plan much and live my life day by day, but I'd rather have intact dreams than plans that fall through - and the present moment is all we have to work with.

    I find that sometimes my body craves strength training and sometimes cardio. Just give it what it needs and all is well. I wouldn't worry about the 4 lbs since you are concentrating mostly on strength training AND you are losing body fat. That's great! As far as the job....it never hurts to interview and see what's out there. You never know when you could find that dream job. Good luck! I'll say a prayer for you.

    Great to see you! I've been eating the single serve ice creams, too. As a matter of fact, half of one of those make me full, but I end up eating the whole thing anyway, lol. Have a great day!

    Glad you are back to blogging. It helps to do it and it's great to get comments on your blogs. I do several comments a day on other Sparkies blogs. So keep blogging and good luck in your journey. emoticon
