Not a great day

Saturday, November 18, 2006

Okay, I thought this would be a Sat. like everyother. Get up, get ready to meet up with my friend Terri and do our workout with our trainer.
Well, we met up this AM at the coffee shop. She told me she had some not so great news, and the first words out of her mouth was she had to move back to her hometown and she would be gone by 11/30. She was happy on Thursday, the job she has been doing for the state for 3 months was hers. She just had to do and pass the 2nd part of the exam on Friday. Well, she did not pass. They told her she would be terminated as of Monday at 4PM. But.....they offered her a job, $5000 less. She said she cannot afford to do that. So she is going home to her parents. She is 43. It is a small town in Western New York. I am sick, but think she is making a rash decision.
I said take the other job for now, and work part time where I work, in the evenings, until she can take the exam again, in 6 months. No. I said at least go and do the workout this morning, may help to clear your mind, no.
I asked if her parents still coming for Thanksgiving. She said no, she told them to go to her sisters. I am worried. I was not sure what to say or do for her. I think she will regret moving in with her parents. She decided all of this in less than 24 hours.
We were suppose to go to a friends and help fix her computer, she called Tammy and told her that is it she is moving.
I will try calling her tomorrow, see if she wants to go for coffee or something.
Really at a loss.
