I just can't give up now!

Saturday, April 17, 2010

Well, you all were saved from a really long blog! I accidentally marked a paragraph to move it, and I ended up deleting the entire blog.

Oh well. As I stated earlier, you were all saved from having to read a long-winded blog to get to the point. So, I'll just get to the point.

I was so tired today. I didn't get enough sleep, the cat pooped in the carrier when I brought him home from the vet...just one thing after another happened today and I was tired.

Finally at 4:00 p.m. I sat down to have some prayer time, and as I wrote, I was just filled with thankfulness. The cats are wearing me out, but I'm thankful that in order to care for them, I have to learn new habits, and that I'm learning patience as I wait lovingly for one of the kitties to come out of hiding.

After my time of prayer, I got some exercise in while I was doing some household chores. As I ran around, literally, a the chorus of a song performed by Mary Mary came to mind: "I just can't give up now; I've come too far from where I started from. Nobody told me the road would be easy but I don't believe He brought me this far to leave me."

And as I finished my exercise, instead of being tired, I was exhilarated! Wow! God is so faithful to show us what we need if we are open to hearing His voice.

So don't give up! Even if you haven't come very far yet, you will if you keep going!

Claire, thanks for sharing, I had a couple days like you describe here, but yes, Jesus is always right there too! Where would we be without Him?

Wow, this must have been a week for God to show up! I was telling a team mate from one of my other Spark teams, that Thursday morning I was having my quiet Bible study time and prayer time...and GOD showed up! He was right there, and I was reveling in the Spirit...I had to go to work at 11:30 that morning, and He was right there with me..while working, I would take a quiet moment and His presence would just cover me! My other team mate told me that He had done the same with her that very same day....
God is moving!! His presence is really being felt right now by quite a few people...wonder what He is preparing us for?
It's great that you took the time for prayer, and thought of the words of the song...these things give us so much strength.
    God bless you.

Truly this other song is so right for us too. "I Need thee Every Hour." I think God stops us in our tracks when we try to get through our days without him. He is faithful and just!
You are moving forward in a mighty way!

What an encouraging word. I expected something different from the title. You were able to turn around a situation that could have deteriorated.
You stopped for prayer time during all the things going on. It reminds me of the line from the song, "Sweet hour of prayer, that calls me from a world of care." Thankfulness brings its own rewards.
I call exercise a mood elevator. It's the best cure for the blues, too. It doesn't even have to be structured. Just get up and move. I read that a half hour of exercise will rejuvenate us more than a half hour nap.
