Problem Knee

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Went to the doctor today for my biannual physical. I have been having some problems with my right knee. He said it is probably a torn miniscus (sp?). Because of the way our insurance is - it starts a new year July 1st, I will probably wait until then to have the surgery. He said just be careful and gave me some anti-inflammation cream for it.

I can exercise but carefully, I am not going to let this get me down. The doctor was happy though that I have lost 20 lbs since I last saw him.

20 pounds lost! Awesome! I always find it doubly awesome (is that even proper English, haha!) when the doctor's scale is also showing the loss, so you know for sure it's not your scale that is off kilter!

Dropping 20 lbs. is a great accomplishment and will be easier on your knee. You may need to find exercises that are less stressful in the knee until you get back to the doctor or your insurance coverage goes back into effect.

Do take care of the knee -- did Dr. give you some Do's and Don'ts re: exercise? Look for tips from Spark coaches! I'm glad you at least know what the problem is, and will pray that you won't aggravate it as you wait until it can be fixed. Blessings, my friend!
