The Bridge From Here To There

This journey from unhealthy couch potato to healthy & happy can sometimes just feel like too much. Too much time needed, too much sacrifice, too much frustration. In order to keep my sanity while I'm reaching for my goals, I've decided to look at it like crossing a long bridge from 'here' to 'there'. (The bridge above happens to be the 'Mighty Mack'- Michigan's Mackinac Bridge)
If I break it down into small, easily attainable goals over a longer period of time, I'll get where I'm going with as little trauma as possible. LOL. So that's my plan. The first goal was to stop drinking pop. I know this one is important for many reasons: it's bad for my bones, empty calories, too much sugar- for starters. I'm rethinking this, though, for this reason: it's going to probably be my most difficult food-related goal to conquer. I love pop, get cranky when I can't have it, think about it non-stop. Silly, I know, but there it is. Obviously I need to give this some careful consideration because I'm not sure I'm ready for this one yet and I really don't want to set a goal I'm not confident I can achieve as my first goal. And as you can see from my previous blog posts, I've tried this repeatedly.
So my promise to myself is this: I'll make a list of 10 small goals to work on over then next couple of months, then post them tomorrow. Yep, that'll get that first foot on the bridge and I'll be on my way.
