Tuesdays/Thinking Days

Tuesday always seems to be more relaxed. It's usually what I call a mellow day.

No pressure to do any thing right away. Very few appointments, no weekend plans yet,
other peoples schedules are not set yet, shopping for food is still two days away.

Any recriminations about past week end occurrence's are already a day behind me.

Its a good day for working out what is going right or wrong and the corrective action needed to move forward.

I took a more critical look at portion control this Morning. my breakfast is almost routine.
For me that's easier and my wife says I am a control freak.

I started using oatmeal again 10 years ago. The flavored packets were almost discarded for the bulk canisters of just oats after the first year or so. I keep flavored packages because my grand daughter likes them. I usually just spoon three tbsp of dry oats into a bowl and add water and pop it into the microwave. This morning I weighed the bowl and one of the packets.
It was 5 oz. Then I put my 3 spoon fulls in the bowl and weighed again.
I was actually using less than the packet.

I usually have a tbsp of peanut butter in the oatmeal for taste and protein. This morning I actually used the measure to put exactly one tbsp in the oatmeal.
I think I have been very close with my estimate(half a golf Ball) all along.

I watched one pf the popular videos yesterday and it was recorded by a lady telling about her measuring center in her kitchen. I was no where as organized as she was.

The cause for all this extra activity on a Tuesday is because I finally started making the recommended 8 glasses of water a day part of my routine for the previous week or so.

And my weight has gone up instead of down. It had leveled off and then started creeping up.
I also reset my calorie intake allowance to a lower number.

I am going to track tighter( I am pretty sure I have been writing everything down) and weigh portions etc between now and next Tuesday.

If everybody finds a way to their goal, they must have a map. I'm starting my map again.

I know activity has been less because of my back. Doctors appointments next Monday and Tuesday should help resolve that.

Tuesdays will be part my map.

    What a good blog. One day at a time and one pound at a time.

    I used to eat oatmeal daily for breakfast as well. My Dad would make us eat an egg, oatmeal, toast and milk when we were in school. He made our breakfasts for us.

    Weight can flutuate as we increase water because our bodies are adjusting and it is important to remember that we are all individual and may not need as much as others.
    I love your road map directions.

    Keeping track and measuring maybe pain taking to some, but it is really worth the effort.

    I still use the Old fashioned oats, just haven't gotten use to packaged food
