Calories and Exercise

Saturday, April 03, 2010

I must admit I'm a little bummed. I changed my weigh-in date to Saturday, so I weighed myself this morning and saw that I was down two pounds. Cool. So I entered it, and then saw the notice that as one loses weight, one's calorie needs go down too.

Bummer.

The odd thing is that I've been over my calories for two or three days now. I'm not sure that I had more than one day that I was within calorie range. However, I have gone around the circuit three times for two of my Curves sessions this week (I got distracted talking to people and forgot to stop!) and I have had a 10 minute cardio session each morning this week.

I know that the weight loss coupled with going over the calorie intake doesn't mean I should ignore the calorie recommendation. I don't think I'm sick, so I don't think that's why I've lost the weight while eating more.

I also know one other thing. I've got to stop thinking about what to write in this blog and start my morning 10 minute cardio!

I didn't know I had to reduce my calorie intake as I lost weight. Now that just plain stinks! Well, I DID get sick this week and food sounded terrible, so maybe I lost some weight even though I couldn't work out.

No matter how it happened, celebrate your weight loss this past week. I, for one, am really proud of you!

I've had the same experience of losing when my eating increased.
I eat over mostly in the morning. Like a hobbit, I could eat two breakfasts with no problem at all. Have a great weekend.

Congrats on the weight loss!! ...and even though your calorie intake may be reduced, your weight loss may be a result of the extra calories being burned... let's hope it's that and you aren't sick :) Have a great rest of the day and keep up the good work - you motivated me this am to do my cardio - thanks,
