great start to the week

Monday, March 29, 2010

So i had my interview this morning. I honestly think it went fantastic..so it depends on my competition. I will know by wednesday, and they want someone to start Monday. It IS a traveling job but they pay 0.41 cents per mile that you drive. I would be going around to different nursing homes and assisting the ophthalmologist (who also travels). On top of paying me for mileage, they also pay hourly wage, for AAA road service, they pay my cell phone and they also give us 7 PAID holidays per year (one of the holidays being our birthday). Also, after 90 days, I get medical benefits including vision and dental. Definitely am interested in the job. I love driving and i dont have to ever be home right at 5pm so it would definitely work for me. I have another interview tomorrow and that one is for the chiropractor/physical therapist office..hopefully I will get to choose between the two and figure out which one would be best..keeping my fingers crossed!!
I didnt sleep well last night but I hadnt done my long run because saturday ended up being a babysitting day (all day literally) and yesterday was date day, so I had to do my long run today. I didnt want to skip it. Honestly though, the thought of doing the 8 miles scared me. I was worried I wouldnt be able to complete it, about my foot hurting..about failing. BUT! I got to the gym, and just started running..I kept wanting to quit but powered through. Running is a VERY mental sport that is for sure. Every mile I kept having to push myself to keep on keeping on. But, i have to say, stepping off and realizing that i did those 8 miles in 80 minutes made me feel so powerful. I felt incredible. I LOVE that feeling. I realized today...I am a runner.

You are amazing - 8 miles in 80 minutes! Question for you, I hydrate fine on a fast walk but have a hard time hydrating when I run (& I'm not even close to a 10 minute mile, maybe 12 1/2) - how do you do it? I get water all over the place.

Here's wishing you get the job you want!

Wow, that's quite a day of accomplishments. Good for you! I totally find that my cardio workouts are a mental challenge more than anything else...and pushing yourself beyond what you "think" you can do is exhilarating. Keep up the positives in your life!
