The other day, I identified the three major challenges for my upcoming vacation to be the planned road trip by myself, the no-plans days at home and the long waits at airports. I said I'd come up with some strategies, and I have. So this is what I'll do to keep me safe - and sane:

1. Bring a large water bottle with me
2. Bring fruit and veggie snacks
3. Pre-departure lunch
4. Bring lots of good music, and maybe even an audio book
5. Set post-arrival dinner plans
6. Rest stop at scenic spot, no truck stop or the like
7. No eating while driving, only at rest stops
8. Bring thermos with tea

1. Make a meal plan
2. Make an action plan
3. Make a social plan
4. Prep ready-to-go (ready-to-chew) snacks
5. Log, read and post on SP
6. Do a mindful eating exercise and blog about it

1. Pre-departure meal
2. Bring/plan a minimum of 3 activities
3. In case of delays or long stopovers - will make meal choice based on health, not price (airports are so expensive, but what do you do when you're locked into one?!)
4. Research and see if it's possible to leave airport during long (6hrs) stopover
5. Bring snacks from home
6. Buy big water bottle after security check point

If you have any other ideas that works for you, please do share!

    Låter som en bra plan.
Vill du låna någon bok att ha med i hörlurarna?

    Det kommer att gå toppen!

I think it is maybe providential that I read your blog today. Today I planned and packed all of my meals to take with me for the day and entered in the nutrition information as I went along. It didn't take that long and I could be assured that I would meet my nutrition goals for the day as well as not wastefully spending money on fast food that neither nurishes my body nor my soul. I just ate from my bag as I became hungry and it worked out very well. This is the second time I've done it. You've just got to find what works for you. It looks like you have a good plan in action.

    Best of luck,
