my saturday

Sunday, March 21, 2010

my saturday was mellow but a good one. Made my delicious smoothie and relaxed for a bit at home. Then looked at my running schedule and saw that I had to do six miles. Went to the gym and I have to say, I struggled to get to 2 miles..but once i hit 3 miles i was in my stride and just kept it up. Got to six and I was so proud and amazed with myself. I NEVER would have been able to do this even a year ago. I'm glad that I continue to amaze myself. Its just like when i posted that other blog..my former self thought it was insane when people told me to start running in general! I couldnt even do a mile. Even in high school when the teacher had us run the mile I would always end up walking part of it. And now? running six miles non stop. CRAZY! Next saturday I get up to 8 miles then 10 then 12 then start tapering off in prep for race day. After running I did full body strength training. After leaving the gym, I felt fantastic! Later on, I went and saw the new Jennifer Aniston/Gerard Butler movie 'the bounty hunter' thought it was very cute. Came home and started talking to a new guy..been emailing for a week and he called me on the phone last night. We talked for over an hour. He's in the army and finished up his 2nd tour of Iraq and now hes doing a desk job in the medical field! Interesting guy. Anyway, no talks of a date but we will see. That was my saturday! Hope you all had fun as well, LOVE YOU ALL!

I can relate to hitting your stride. It still surprises me when I am biking or walking and tire and keep going any how, and then have the surge of energy and confidence as I hit my stride.
