cardio 1st vs. cardio last

I had read somewhere here on SP to do strength training first and then do the cardio last. That it is more affective doing it this way. I thought I would try it out today and see if there was a difference in how I felt physically. After warming up walking on the treadmill for about 10 minutes, I did some strength training on the weight machines for about 20 minutes and then I went back to the treadmill and walked another 30 minutes. For myself, I found that I did feel different. I didn't feel as tired and I felt as though I had a workout. I was actually sweating which I hardly ever do unless I run. So, there is my perspective on the thought of doing strength training before cardio. I felt more energized afterwards. Although, I do have to say that it was strange doing things in reverse. I was so use to doing cardio first and then strength. Another little tidbit that I would like to add, is that protein should be eaten up to an hour after exercise. This is to help build muscle. I guess by feeding the muscles. I had read this somewhere also, and my son, who is a tri-athlete, told me the same thing. It doesn't hurt to try. What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger!
