3-2-2010 - Marching Ahead

Well I am entering March not feeling well, I am not able to exercise right now. But today I am feeling better, promised DH Iwould take it easy today, he knows the minute I start to feel better I will get busy. I am also staying home for volunteer work, dont what to share this cold with anyone. I dont think I can spread this bug on the interent. lol
I have had time to work up my plan for March.

1 - 60 min cardio 6 times a week
2 - 15 min strength 5 times a week
3 - 9 cups of water daily
4 - making efforts to blog daily
5 - do alternate challenge for 50# challenge team

My real goal this month is to get my cardio up to 60 and be consistant. I am adding 2 days of strength because right now I am doing that with Sweating to the oldies has a strength segment and I add a little more on the side. I know this is also important. With strength that will give me 2 days upper body, 2 days lower body and one core.
I have been pretty good on getting my water up to 9 that was a challenge for me, but in working on it in February, I have gotten better. Iwill work this month adding another to get to 10.
I have lost 9 lbs in the lat 2 months, not great but not bad either, I had hoped to lose 5-6 lbs a month so I am very close to that. If I can keep this going by my trip in late Aug I will be down to the 190s which was my goal. I would of course love to lose more. I know to do that I will have to keep adding to the cardio. I am looking forward to the warmer weather and getting into our pool, which will add that needed exercise time and be fun to boot. I do love to swim. So hoping this year it will not be as chilly as last year. I will also have to get a new swimsuit as my last one was both too big and worn out. This will be a new and I do hope fun challenge for me. I think I will be able to go to normal store and try to find one.
Oh a spring time note, our front planter box is just blooming with crocus, daffodils, hyathins, and so many more including snapdragons, which survived the frost and as looking lovely and unexpected. Our lilacs which we thought we had lost are blooming also. Its is lovly to look out each morning while having breakfast and see the lovely color out there. It was a lot of hard work but boy does it look nice. The clover we planted around the large paving stones has just taken over the upper part of the yard but its all green and nice. Will take pictures soon, need a day not rainy as today is. I did get out for a few and get some pruning and cleaning done in the planter, the tulips are starting to come up also. That will be my only exercise for today a quick 15 miuntes out gardening front and back.

    Hi Deb, if you've got what I had it took me over a week to finally get to where I feel better. I'm so weak and still tired but at least I am up and able to catch up on sparking since I've been out of it for the past 10 days! Get your rest and get better soon!

    Your March goals are great. I know you can do it!
    You know, you burn more calories when you have more muscle. So I would recommend upping the strength training instead of the cardio since you're already going to be doing 60 minutes of that.

    I do hope you start feeling better. All those lovely spring flowers have to help lighten your mood a little. We are starting our 'muddy season'. We tend to go from snow to mud to blowing dirt to mud again. Oh, but it's still a nice place to live.
