MY CHALLENGE

TUESDAY, FEB. 23RD


Challenge today is to limit SATURATED FATS!! Foods to avoid include bacon, beef, butter, full-fat dairy, coconut oil, ice cream. lard and pork. READ LABELS and aim for less than 15-25 grams.

    I wish you well on your weight loss efforts--I wonder if this is the right time to mention that I don't think saturated fats are the villain they've been made out be. They've been given a bad rap, and new evidence sheds more light on the subject. Perhaps you might want to read the article by Gary Taub which is here:

    Saturated fats will be fine without you. They have their own issues. Sometimes we can't save someone else, but we can save ourselves. Here's to hating dead pigs! Let 'em live, let 'em live!

    I have never given up anything for Lent before, not being Catholic. But I did give up added sat fat. I am still eating lean meats - even chick breast has sat fat - but I am cooking and dressing with MUFA oils.

    >Great going on your sugar intake.
    I find limiting saturating fats easy, I don't like meat.
    Bob sruggles with it becuse he loves meat. So I wish you luck in achiving this goal.
