Snow days & lots of pizza

Well, we didn’t end up going to Red Robin because we discovered the closest one is 30 min away. (We recently moved here.) We went to Texas Roadhouse instead. I ate less calories than I probably would have at Red Robin, but it was still somewhere in the 800s. Ugh. The rolls did me in.

I woke up Thursday morning to snow. I went ahead and got ready for work, then checked my work email and saw that nearly everyone said they wouldn’t be coming in. My boyfriend had already drove to the vet at 8 a.m. and told me it wouldn’t be safe for me to drive. I was happy to have a snow day. It snowed ALL day long. It was beautiful and I watched it all day.

Snow days are awesome. I love getting to spend extra time with my boyfriend and cats. But the snow meant we didn’t drive anywhere but back to the vet to pick up one of our cats. This also meant my boyfriend felt the need to order from Pizza Hut. I didn’t want any of the pizza since it was covered in pepperoni (I only like cheese), but since he was eating it right in front of me, I had a piece. I also had some Dr Pepper that he got from Pizza Hut. I tracked it on Spark later and saw that I’d had 600 calories. Ugh.

Later in the evening I was craving Cheez-Its. I had a single package of it in my car (from work), so I went out to get it. After I ate it, I wanted more, but we couldn’t drive anywhere. So I ended up eating Doritos. Ugh. I’m annoyed with myself. I was having a craving for a salty snack and I had to have it. I have healthy food here, but I wanted something salty.

I have an easier time eating right when I go to work. I take only healthy food with me and eat it. There have been Cheez-Its in my office for a whole week and I didn’t eat any until last night. I guess being out of my normal schedule and being around my pizza-eating boyfriend has a bad effect on me. I also wasn’t able to go to the gym last night because of the snow.

I’m working from home again today. It’s not snowing anymore but the roads are still hazardous. We ordered Pizza Hut again for lunch. Oh, the perils of breaking from my schedule. I also probably won’t be able to drive to the gym this evening.

Oh well, there’s always tomorrow. Do any of you have trouble eating right when your schedule changes like this? How do you handle it (the cravings and all)?

    only recently I started keeping track of my eating and eating healthy when I am not at work but before, my eating habits were all out of wake! I would wake up and not be too hungry so I would just have a coffee, and then I would just not eat again until dinner and thats where I blew all my calories! At work I am more disciplined but you know it happens, especially during these cold winter months, staying home and eating stuff we normally try to stay away from happens.

    Dont worry dont beat yourself up. Once the snow starts clearing up you will be back on track :)

    And dont worry if my boyfriend started eating pizza infront of me too, I would have definitely caved in... lol

    Snowed in just makes me want to bake. Cookies, pies, cakes or bread. So far this winter, I have not done any. I didn't even make Christmas cookies. But it is so had to resist w/bf or hubby eating Pizza Hut. Yummo
