Onto the 2nd Stage

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Ok, so the first week with the Fastbreaks went well. I didn't break it at all until just this past Sunday. I was at home for the weekend - which I thought was going to be a big challenge. But I spoke with my parents about my goals and what I was doing and I think that helped. I even exercised Friday and Saturday - and I got my parents into it too! I think I motivated my mom some, because I was using the Wii Fit+ (which I love, even though it keeps telling me I'm obese in not so subtle ways). She hadn't used it in a while, so when I got it out, she remembered it and thought it was fun. Saturday morning by the time I woke and went downstairs at 8:30 she had already done her exercises. Sunday my parents took us out, and I don't remember what all we ate. Also on Tuesday me and my husband went out for drinks with some old friends, and you know how that goes. All in all though, not terrible. I know it could have been MUCH worse than what I did (I did try to choose salads, keep dressing on the side, etc.) I am not totally bummed about it, because that was only 2 days out of I think 17 so far. I am back on track now, and I had rewarded myself with a jump rope that I am very excited to use!

Now that I'm feeling good about this, its time to start working on one of my worst habits and breaking it : drinking soda. I know a lot of people use this as a small step, but I have been trying to kick it off and on now for 4 years. I don't drink much else than that and water, with an occasional glass of milk (if I don't have cereal) and maybe once every three months I will have a glass of juice. I wish I liked soda water, I would wean myself off that way. I'm not sure what it is, but I think I will start keeping a Sparkstreak for myself about it ; how many days can I go WITHOUT drinking soda. And slowly add up the numbers, up the streak I'm shooting for, etc.

I still haven't finished my vision collage, though I am working on it. I just haven't been able to find as many photos as I thought I would. I will get it done and post it on here! Maybe I'll take some time this weekend.
