spent hours with my grandbaby while parents were busy with life, jobs, being young....

now they want to take back whatever they thought it was that I was taking from them.....

i thought it was helping out.....

i'll be ok, just right now....i feel shafted.

i have given them so many hours

You are not alone when it comes to babysitting your grandchildren. One of my daughters is 21, has one 17 month old son that I take care of 24/7 and a live in boyfriend that does nothing around the house. And its my house. Neither pay me a dime towards my mortgage or heating, lights, etc.

Also, my daughter never thanks me for doing everything for her son. My daughter has feed her son maybe 3 times in his entire life (17 months).

I am not appreciated for all I do, but I am very glad to have my grandson in my otherwise lonely life.

What a cruel rejection. I so feel for you!

You know, they will realize what they had when it's gone. And, they have to start paying a baby-sitter. Then having Grandma doing the baby sitting and other child care won't seem so bad...

My heart goes out to you because I totally understand where you're coming from. But I feel like I don't fit in with the family that I have...

You know, if there is a family equivalent of "pinkslipping" followed by "denying unemployment benefits", you should do so....turn the tables on those unappreciative $#@&!s.....that outta teach 'em....not much worse in the world than an unsupportive family (unless perhaps driving in a blizzard in a Toyota.....)....hang in there!
