Road to my 1st 5K

I've decided to RUN my first 5K. This isn't the first time I've entered a 5K, just the first time I plan on running the whole thing. The race is in June, 2010 so for the next several months I have mapped out a plan to get me 5K ready. I go to the gym at least 3 times a week where I do about 30min of cardio, typically the elliptical trainer.
Well my goal for the month of February is to be able to consistently run 1 mile on the treadmill. Well, it's 2/8 and I'm already up to a comfortable .75 mile. My biggest struggle isn't feeling tired it's my leg muscles. I try to stretch but they just aren't used to that kind of demand. So I'll just keep working my way to a mile.
March's Goal - 2 miles.
