My 49th Birthday Challenge Completed

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Yesterday was my 49th birthday. I set a goal to physically challenge myself ( my previous blog in Dec.) I was able to complete it in the time I wanted. In fact. threw in 49 minutes of Yoga for good measure.

After completing it, my trainer asked me what I would do for my big 50 next year, I responded, for starters, running a 5K.

Unfortunately I was not able to reach my goal weight by my birthday, such a struggle to lose just a couple more pounds. But that will come in time.

So with a pat on my own back, I look forward to God willing, another 49 years full of good health and happiness.

I love it that you did not claim failure because of the few lbs still not lost. We just cannot do that to ourselves! I used to think things like this: oh I forgot my pedometer today... why try to walk more if I can't count it? Now I think: oh I forgot my pedometer today, I know how much I walk based on my speed and time spent, so I can estimate very closely. That will be good enough and I do NOT need the pedometer to motivate me to walk!!

You don't need those extra few pounds to be lost to claim your rightful victory!! Congrats.

Great idea. You've inspired me to set some new goals for my 44th birthday in November. emoticon

I like your idea of setting those certain goals by your birthday. I just celebrated my 50th birthday yesterday. I have been thinking about where I want to be by this time next year. I have only been doing SP for a couple of months but have made so many good changes and progress already.
You have inspired me to sit down and make a list of goals other than weight loss. The weight will come off. I need to focus on some other areas.
