Trying to get back in the groove of things

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

I understand that life has it's ups and downs. We need to find the best way to work through it. My life has drastically changed in many ways over the last year. I have RNY surgery on April 1st, 2009. I lost my Dad on 9/14/09. The same day my son turned 4. And he is named after my Dad. My Mom packed up and left the home where I grew up. She could no longer stay in a huge house in a remote area of the mountains in Virginia without my Dad. We had discussed having one last family gathering in the house for Thanksgiving. But as the day grew closer and closer, none of us could bear the thought of being there with out Dad. Especially since the Sunday before Thanksgiving was his birthday.

So my Mom moved in with one of my sisters 1 week before Thanksgiving. We had a small get together at my sister's house. It was really strange, not the family get together we are all used to. Christmas was about the same with my other sister and her 2 kids coming up from Florida. And with that brought on another situation. We lost my brother in law to a freak accident with fire works January of 09. So all of us were struggling with 2 losses this year through the holidays.

Honestly I lost my way. I threw myself into my work. I was working 12 - 14 hours a day. I thought it was the way to cope with my situation. To throw myself into work instead of dealing with reality. Well I am back to reality now. I know better, I should have just thrown myself into my beliefs. I should have given my struggles to God and had him help me through this.

Ok, my weight. I have been around 202 - 205 for the last 3 months. I have not exercised as much as I should have been. Using the excuse of the weather. Since I was walking outside 2 - 3 miles a day. I have been lucky that I didn't gain during this time. But I tried to really watch what I was eating.

Now I am walking inside our warehouse and manufacturing plant until the weather breaks. And I have been using the Eclipse daily. Trying to work up to more time, but just happy that I get on it every day. I need to get back to the WII fit and WII fit Plus. I am just glad that I started walking again. It really helps with stress and makes me feel better both inside and out.

I want to send a few thanks out the Mac n Jax and Jeanie who have encouraged me to get back into the swing of things. I am worth it and need to take care of myself. I am almost to "Onderland". I hope to get there soon.

I had my 9 month check up today and my doctor was very impressed and proud of the progress I have made so far. I have gone from 329 lbs to 203.5 lbs. Everything looks good to him. I have a lot of extra skin but we will deal with that later. I still have more weight to loose.

Thanks once again for listening to me ramble. I hope to get back into the different groups that I belong to. I really miss all of my friends and being a part of their experiences with the journeys we are all on.

Take Care and God Bless ! ! !

Oh and since I wasn't online. Happy New Year, this one will be the best yet. I hope to start catching up on all the blogs I have missed. And start encouring my friends on their journeys. I have much to be proud of both with myself and with my friend's progress.
