Dentist

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

I chipped an incisor. So tomorrow, after work, I have a dentist appointment. I realize it is not a big deal but sitting in the dentist chair has a way of getting me tense unless I consciously practice relaxation techniques. Just thinking about it can get me uptight. I'll be glad when the tooth is repaired.

Ouch, dentist of today are so much better than when I was a kid. I don't know why going to the dentist creates anxiety as adults. I have a wonderful dentist, she has a way of making you relax just by her tone of voice and the headphones with calming music is a plus.
    You will do well!

Oh yes, I would practice deep breathing while sitting in the dentist chair.

Sorry about your tooth chipping. Does your dentist use nitrous oxide (laughing gas)? I love it & I actually wound up looking forward to going to the dentist. In case you don't know, it's not used as an anesthetic but in conjunction with Lidocaine or whatever your dentist uses. It makes sitting in the chair very pleasant.
