Bootcamp Blog Challenge

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

I know I haven't written a blog lately, but I have been thinking about it. However, I have been doing all the exercise and challenges I am part of on SP so I haven't written anything - (it is also hard for me to put my thoughts down in written form).

My basic routine has been as I read through the different posts and challenges I will stop and do that particular challenge or exercise.

I have been "enjoying" doing the Bootcamp videos. They are short yet I feel I have had a workout afterwards. Some are getting easier and some are still a challenge.

I am also doing some strength training challenges on the Quilt and Lose Team and the Colorado Christian Women Team. Last week was a Stretching Challenge on the Christians with 100 Pounds to Lose Team.

I have started wearing my pedometer for the 10,000 Step Challenge on Christian Needlecrafters Team.

I am also participating on the 10Day Challenge Team and the 1 Day Challenge Team.

I have kept my own goal of doing Oxycise 5x's a week and have a streak of 7 weeks.

The weight is slow coming off, but I know that it is better to lose slow - I just have to keep that in mind so as not to be discouraged. I did feel a little discouraged this morning because I had only lost .25 lb since last Tues. (according to the TOPS scale last night.). My scale shows I lost 1.5 - oh well. I had a high calorie breakfast (emotional eating) then, I said STOP and got back into gear and started exercising. I had a small lunch and no snacks to make up for the breakfast.

Thank you SparkFriends and Teams for the challenges and inspiration that are keeping me focused on a healthy lifestyle.

Hey Carrie! As you are slowly changing your lifestyle towards a healthy one, know that you are also changing on the inside. Emotionally, spiritually and physically of course. Weight loss can happen on the inside first, and getting the "dangerous" fat off is certainly important. Your consistency inspires me and you are choosing the right thing. May your day tomorrow be a positive and encouraging one.

Wow! That is a lot of challenges!!! I think losing slow is better then staying the same or gaining! Don't compare yourself to others and just stay the course. Good luck!

You are going to succeed, Carrie -- you have such a wonderful attitude, and definitely have learned the Spark mantra of "2 steps back - 1 step forward" -- One of these days you're going to have a super good surprise when you step on the scale & the number is MUCH less than you expected! My official scale (at the fitness center) doesn't match my home scale either -- so I try to stay off the home one!

Wow, I do admire your persistence. I'm not able to exercise just now because of medical reasons, but hope to start stretching tomorrow and walking soon. emoticon
