For the love of Jack D.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

So I've been working on my eating habits and exercise for the last few weeks. My friend and I are in this togeather and I think that will help to keep up motivation. What I've been noticing so far is drinking is my devil. I looooove me some Jack Daniels but never really realized how many calories are in it and how much more I eat when I'm drunk. SO plan is to drink once a week (big step down form 5 nights a week) and when I do drink to have only vodka or gin (with diet tonic). I'm guessing it will be much better if I can quit drinking all togeather but I think if I deprive myself of too much at once then I'm setting myself up for failure right? I guess I'll continue to drink once a week and see if that works........damn alcohol' why do I love you so?

I cut down from drinking about 2 or 3 nights a week to not at all. At first I'd budget it into my day calorie wise and that went fine, but the smaller and the more active I was the quicker it would affect me and the less I could drink without feeling "too drunk". Now even having a beer or two seems to leave me feeling rotten in the morning and most of the next day so I ended up quiting drinking all together.

I'm canadian and we loves us some beer so I don't have any good suggestions on hard liquor. But I've heard good things about miller's new 55 calorie beer.

Gratz to you on making the choice to scale back you're going to have awesome results!!

Whiskey isn't that high calorie. A shot is only a bit over 100 calories.

Hon, you need to quit drinking that rot gut whiskey. Get a nice bottle of Irish whiskey. I got all my coworkers who drank Jack to try Irish whiskey and every one of them preferred it. Try a bottle of Old Bushmills or Tullamore Dew. Bushmills has the better flavor but Dew is smoother (and granier as well making it a little more like bourbon and sour mash than Bushmills).

If you're going to blow 100 calories on something it should be something good.
