Falling Off the Edge

Monday, January 18, 2010

As summer ended and the new school year approached, I felt like I was in a canoe headed for a waterfall, unable to change my course. I didn't want to go over the edge but I couldn't fight the flow. I just don't know how to get a new school year off the ground and maintain ANY SEMBLANCE OF BALANCE! Teachers know what I'm talking about. It's like mounting a Broadway show. You just eat, sleep, and breathe it until opening night. And then you are tweaking it for weeks after. I stopped working out and tracking my food the day I went back to work and it's taken nearly 5 months to get back to it again. Today I worked out (a friend of mine loaned me her treadmill! Woo-hoo!) and tracked my food. Tomorrow I am going to weight myself because you have to know where you are starting from, right? Maybe next year, I'll try to find my way back sooner than 5 months. Progress, not perfection.
