Migraines ... Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!

Thursday, January 14, 2010

I gotta tell ya ... I'm a soooo sick of migraines. Been fighting one all week, fairly well too. This morning, and yesterday, though ... ugh. I woke up with it pounding pretty bad. Rubbed some Flexall on the forehead and back of neck this morning and took some Excedrin migraine. Feeling much better now than it has all week. It may have finally broke. I can still feel it a touch in there somewhere but it may be on it's way out now. I sure hope so.

Didn't eat so healthy yesterday and Tuesday I overindulged in carbs and fats. This may be part of the problem. I've been drinking lots more waters too since yesterday. I'm sure that helps a lot as dehydration can cause a migraine in some people. I bet it does for me. I'm terrible about drinking water. I don't like the taste of plain water so I'm always buying packets and flavored waters with nutrition added. Every once in a while I make myself drink plain water if I can feel my body just absolutely needs it. For some reason it doesn't taste as bland to me then. Cravings have a way of helping us get things down, thank God!

Well, I'm going to do my best today to do better nutrition and water wise. Wish me luck, tummy needs to help me with this.

Thanks PLSOCK! Flexall does help a lot too. I do use Crystal Light myself a lot of the time too. Tastes great! I am feeling a lot better now.

Most of my water intake has crystal light in it cuz I don't love plain water either. And you are right, dehydration does cause headaches or migraines. I have only had a few in my lifetime, but I don't wish them on anybody- they are the worst! I used Tiger Balm lotion to rub on my neck after the car accident I was in. Stinks something awful but it works! May help with a migraine, if you carry tension in your neck and shoulders.
Good luck with nutrition and water today!
