Loss of another family member :(

Today my family will experience another great loss. My cousin has been battling cancer for the last 4-5 years. Today she will stop her valiant efforts. She was a true source of inspiration. I cannot believe the strength and courage that she had throughout her entire life. We will fight in your place, in hopes that others do not have to go through these diseases again.
For a brief History:
My grandmother died of breast cancer at 39, my mother was 11. My grandmother was in a family of 5 girls, 4 died of breast cancer.
My eldest aunt on this side of the family dicovered her breast cancer at age 41, she passed away at 46, in 2000. Less than one year later my youngest aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer, she continues to be in remission.
Because of the family history, my family was tested for the breast cancer gene(BRCA). There are only two girls in the family (out of 8) who do NOT have the gene, myself and the cousin that we are saying goodbye to today(she is also the daughter of my eldest aunt). Her cancer, however, is Ovarian/Uteran cancer (they are not sure which, since when they found it it had grown around both areas). She is 35.
It scares me that I am the ONLY female left in my family who does not have this "cancer gene" (though having the gene does not mean you WILL get cancer and not having the gene doesn't mean I WON'T). I do not want to watch another go through this disease -especially lose them to this disease. I wish for this year to bring more tidings of happiness...more hope.
This is too many to lose. Please help in whatever ways you can to find a cure for these terrible diseases (for all diseases for that matter). Do your part to donate your time or money, a simple walk dedicated in their favor, a few dollars to a charity. I certainly appreciate all you do.
I know there are MANY others out there feeling this pain, some are feeling it more than I am. This blog is not meant to get attention, but to bring attention to the fact that we NEED to save ourselves from whatever diseases we are fighting and help others all we can in their fights.
