A New Beginning

As 2010 begins, I find myself in a place I wish I had never gotten to again. I have yo-yo'd this weight so many times and now it's time to take it off for good. There are several things I know:

-- I am a sugar addict ... if can manage to remove it from my regular diet then I do much better than when I do a little bit at a time.

-- Raw, fresh vegetables MUST be a main stay in my diet. Regardless of anything else, these are what feeds my body the things that it needs to focused and regular.

-- Calories IN must be less than calories OUT

-- Exercise MUST be fun or I can't stick to it. Finding new ways to enjoy the outside in my new environment will be key to this. Finding ways to enjoy being in the gym will also be necessary.

-- Burning calories through exercise is good ... but what is even more important is to build STRENGTH and FLEXIBILITY making burning calories through exercise safer and more enjoyable.

-- I am an Emotional Eater ... and while I have come to recognize this, I really do not have any idea on what to do with the information. This is something that I need to pursue or I will continue to yo-yo for the rest of my life and that is NOT AN OPTION.

Knowing is the first step in changing. That's what they say ... and I believe them. So as I sit here and prepare for SparkPeople's bootcamp and prepare for a New Beginning, I also pledge to come here regularly and report back to you how things are going.
