Back on the wagon

Monday, December 28, 2009

I started dieting in 2002. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to try the Atkin's diet. I thought, what do I have to lose. Well, I lost 130 lbs from June 2002 until July 2005. Then my dad passed away and I was feeling sorry for myself so I thought I could just eat what I wanted for a couple of days and then go back on the Atkin's diet. Wrong!! I never went back on. I started to put a couple of pounds back on and then started to yo yo. Up, down, Up, down. I have put approximately 40 pounds back on since then. Now my clothes are tight again. I refuse to upsize my clothes. I WILL NOT go back to the way I was before I started to diet. My sister told me about sparkpeople and I signed up just a few days ago. I have gotten my motivation back. I have started drinking my water again and I am eating healthier. Wish me luck!! emoticon

Karen, I'm glad to hear you've got your motivation back. I'm glad I could help you. I know it's helped me to keep track of everything and I'm sure it will help you too. It's so much easier than having to write everything down and to know how many calories you have remaining for the day. I just found it to be inspirational for myself as well. Good luck. We can be there for each other, ok? emoticon

I am sorry to hear about your dad. I was on Weight Watcher and lost about 75 pounds but have now gained back 20 in just 2 years! I do NOT want to gain another 20. I already had to buy a couple of new pants to wear. I refuse to change my closet AGAIN! Good luck to your getting back on track!
