Did I say raw? What I meant was high raw.

Wednesday, December 02, 2009

I'd love to eventually try being a raw vegan but I think that will have to wait till Spring or Summer. This cold weather is really making it hard for me to eat cold or room temp foods all day, day in and day out. For now high raw is all I've got in me. I mean I can do the green smoothies, raw fruit and vegetables for snacks and salads but I need a hot soup or some oven roasted veggies to warm my soul. Being vegan isn't as hard as I thought (although I could definitely it would be but for now I need warmth.

I'm hanging in there and and I'm hoping that this minor change won't derail my efforts too much but hey I'm doing what I can.

Hi! I'm new. I've been incorporating raw recipes and smoothies into my diet for the last few months. I still enjoy soups, and steamed or roasted veggies. I do eat fish and eggs, so I'm not a vegetarian. I don't eat any other meats though. I eat pretty healthy, but need to lose weight. I plan to do this by planning my food, tracking it and my exercise. I'd like to lose 20 lbs. by May 12, 2010; and another 10 by the end of June, 2010. emoticon

I have a friend who is doing a "raw cleanse" until new years. Nice way to try something and see if you like it.

I think it is admirable that you are able to go high vegan. I won't lie, I am not a vegan, but I do highly respect those that are able to take that life route. It is inspiring when I see someone who is willing and able to take such a stand.

I think high raw is a great way to go. In fact, I believe that high raw is probably better for you than all raw.

Dr. Joel Fuhrman talks about this issue here:

So, I think what you're doing sounds great.
