The White Devil

Trying to find a way to get away from sodium the white devil. That stuff is hidden in everything it seems like we cant get away from it. I had no idea how much sodium I was eating until I began to track my nutrition and now I see why I have high blood pressure. It seems unbelievable how much sodium we all consume and I bet most of us don't even know that we are taking it in. Next time you eat a meal take a minute and add up all of the sodium per serving for that meal and I'm sure you will be shocked just as I was. Please let me know.

    I know what you mean. On the days that I enter my food into the tracker, I am almost always way over on my sodium intake. I live alone, so I tend to eat pre-packaged foods like Smart Ones or Lean Cuisines. Those things are mega-salty. I myself don't have high blood pressure, but my mom does. She also has only one kidney, so at least when I cook meals I stay away from added salt for her benefit. I need to get into a more healthy habit of preparing all my meals from scratch.
