Why do they call it 'losing' weight???

Thursday, November 05, 2009

Seriously? Why?

I'm not 'losing' it, I'm throwing it as far away as possible in the hopes that I never find it again. I don't want to 'lose' it and find it lurking in my closet one day waiting to creep back on like that winter coat that was too tight this year:(

I want to lock it in a time capsule, dig the deepest hole, spit on it and move to the other side of the country. (side note, what qualifies as the other side of the country if you live in the middle? Just a thought)

So to you banished weight.......I say SUCK IT!

Great blog! Nearly a year ago I wrote a blog about "releasing" my fat cells with a vote of thanks and "calling" healthy cells. I too have wondered why it is called "loosing". That seems to imply that you will "find" it again. Well.... I'm with you.... HIT THE ROAD FAT CELLS! And DON"T YOU COME BACK! You go girl! Thanks for making my morning!

I try to never say that I am losing weight, or that I have lost weight. Our minds are very literal. While our conscious mind might know what we mean, our conscious mind takes everything we say literally. Losing something or something that is lost implies that we need to go find it again.

Instead I say that I am freely releasing the weight from my body never to return.

Similarly I never use expressions, you make me sick
    wish I could die,
This is the worst thing that has ever happened, etc.
your subconscious mind hears that and believes what you say.

Haha! Reading this actually made me laugh out loud in class! Whoops!

I totally agree though. My excess fat isn't like an extra set of keys that got lost in my room, finding it will never be useful!

    So yeah, SUCK IT FAT!

I use the word "removing" in the context of mass reduction...

I tend to use the word trashing to explain what I'm doing with my weight. After all, how often do we want something back that's in the rubbish?

Too funny! I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment. I am working on running as far away from my fat as possible!
