An accident who helped...

Monday, October 26, 2009

This morning started really lousy. The workers took away our stairs to fix with the outside of the house and I had to go out through the basement... there is no real stair down there and not very easy to go at all... it also means that one has to pass through the bathroom and it makes me nervous...

And of course I lost my temper with my daughter - we see eachother to seldom and it stresses me so my mood really goes swinging and I lose control...

Anyway - drove down to the village to pick up some things at the store and a friend of my daughter. Coming out of the store, the car wouldn´t start - no petrol! Unbelievable! Asked a man who was coming out as well if I could go with him to the gasstation a kilometre away.. He was glad to help and offered to take me back as well. Left daughter and barking dog in car and went to the station where I could borrow a container ... came back and the car started after some nervewrecking minutes... lucky I had a good battery.

The funny thing is that after that my depression lifted - I realized that if my car had broke down I would have been in REAL trouble. So the other disturbances turned into nothing.

Comparing is mostly no good for me, but this time it was good to compare what could have been to what was.

Now I have made pizzabuns for the kids which makes me feel like a real mother... luckily there is also a teenager in the house so I don´t think there will be any buns left for tonight when my evening cravings starts...

If it is a situation we can change by doing something it is not a bad situation. As long as we continue to be sober and continue to live a healthy life we are on the road to recovery and to changing ourselves and our world. Star emoticon

Great reaction to running out of gas. There is always someone or some way a situation could be worse. I remind myself of that quite often, and it helps me deal with things, too.
