Didn't realise just how dehydrated you get overnight when you have a cold or flu & I have been so surprised about the effect water has had on me over the last few days. Before Pete went to work one morning, I asked him if he would bring me up my 2ltr bottle filled with filtered water as I had woken up feeling so hoarse & dry with a really bad sore throat & was going to stay in bed for the whole morning. (we always keep 2 bottles topped up in the fridge) I felt so thirsty that I asked him to put the sports top from the smaller bottle in place of the screw top. (for some reason I cannot drink much water from a glass & I find it much easier to drink straight from the bottle) So there was I, at 6.30 in the morning, lying in bed swigging out of a huge 2ltr bottle!!!!! Before I knew it I'd drunk the full 2 litres and it was only 9am! I have done this for the last 3 mornings & now feel so much better. It has helped clear my head & my throat & although not cured my flu, it certainly has made it more bearable.

I find that plain water helps me with my Asthma and when I get cold and generally don't feel well. 9 glasses is my goal. I tend not to drink coffee or tea anymore.
