The "don´t want" method

I´ve been in "positive thinking" business since the 80-ies. Very educated in seeing options instead of hurdles, power instead of weakness, looking forward instead of whining about the past...
But today I contemplate over the power of "don´t want". When I look forward into an unknown future it IS sometimes hard to figure out what I want. What is happiness? What will make me content? In what areas is personal growth most important right now? As I do not know how it feels to be successful it´s hard to aim at that goal - because I really don´t know what it is.
So - when I do not know what I WANT, it is a good idea to start "decluttering" my mind by sorting out what I DON´T want.
- I don´t want to die premature.
-I don´want to feel like a failure
-I don´t want to ... hey with compulsive overeating I HAVE left the "Don´ts" and i all into what I want. But for my company - I still have to do the don´ts to find the wants - and I find is useful when I work as a coach for unemployed as well.
