10-10-09 Lots of energy today and feeling motivated!

Saturday, October 10, 2009

It's been a rough month. My back went out and I was unable to do anything and was feeling very depressed because I was just on a roll with the exercise and had to drastically slow down. Walking wasn't any fun because my legs were so weak and my back hurt so bad. Now I'm in physical therapy for my low back and my left foot (plantar fasciitis).

The good news is....I am starting to get back into some of my old clothes! Yes!! What a wonderful feeling to have your clothes loose instead of skin tight. I used to looked forward to the evening when I could put my sweat pants on and be comfortable. Now I look forward to stepping on the scale and seeing each new number that I haven't seen in ages. It's a wonderful mood enhancer to start the day.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weight loss journey as much as I am. emoticon emoticon

It is So hard to have your exercise momentum interrupted. Inertia is such a powerful force; unfortunately, that's still true when it's not moving in our favor! I'm glad you're getting therapy.

Ah, getting into old clothes is the best. Congratulations! It's like having brand new clothes that are free cuz they're already yours.

Slow, long, static stretches on my calves, hamstring stretches also and prescription orthopedic saved me from severe plantar fasciitis pain. Have you seen a podiatrist? So many insurance policies don't cover orthotics even those they're the most conservative treatment for pf - but most of those policies pay for surgery which is actually very infrequently done. Isn't that special? Anyway, therapy co-insurance and co-pays can surpass the cost of orthotics easily enough. I needed both to get me started. That was years ago and I haven't needed therapy for it since. If you were near Portland, Oregon, I could share my great DPM. Some dr's like DPM's, some knock them, but they are the specialists with this kind of stuff. Best recovery to you!
