Theresa the numbers didn't look that high until the last 5 days. Perhaps thats when the stress got to you. Most are below 120 until 5 days ago. Look back and see if there's something that you may have changed that closely back. Then see if you can change it. Perhaps you were sick or you took a new med. Try that.

Stay the course and follow doctors advice on meds..He may need to change them or add to them. You are doing things that help..exercise, food and carb counting, drinking water? I found that if I don't drink enough water by noon, my BS is higher even tho I haven't eaten. Our bodies are like fine chemistry "machines" ..timed to work together with all the necessary components. We have to make sure we give it those things needed to work. It is a struggle, but Girl,YOU CAN DO IT!! emoticon

My father had diabetes, but sadly he died when he was only 69. I know maybe it's something that you don't want to hear, but the reason I mentioned it is because I'm pre-diabetic. Like you, I'm scared to death of what it is and what it can do. But I'll be darn if it's going to take me like it did my father.

You have an extremely good grip on your levels. Perhaps, you could discuss the levels with your doctor and a dietician? I work very close with both of mine and also my Nephrologist. Not only do I have pre-diabetes, but I have kidney disease too.

I know that you can control your diabetes and in time you'll have your levels under control. Stay strong and I have faith in you!

Hey Theresa, I too hate living with diabetes. I was diagnosed in 2001, althought had the gestational diabetes with both of my daughters' pregnancies. It seems no matter how hard I work at eating right & exercising, my #s seem to be ok for my DR but he A1c is the problem. Generally my fasting ranges from 79-95 & post meals 115-135 depending on what I've eaten. My last A1C reading was 6.7 definitely needs improvment.

So know that you are not alone in the battle to gain contol of your BS --- I'm right there with you. We can make great lemonaide with the lemoms we have been given. Just hang in there & keep doing what's good for your body. emoticon emoticon Donna

Hang in there. It's good that you are watching you BS carefully to try and avoid any undue complications from diabetes. Perhaps you just need your medicines tweeked a bit. Don't dispair - all of your Spark buddies are rooting for you, and are here to support you. Keep on doing all the healthy things you are doing, eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep. Today is a new day - and I hope things are improving for you.

    Hi Theresa
Aww hun, I can understand you feeling done, DH has days when he's so fed up it's untrue and he goes into himself and won't talk.
As you're eating properly and exercising have you had your meds checked recently. Maybe your body is not tolerating them and you need to alter them.
So many things can trigger spikes as DH calls them, even lack of sleep (according to our Nurse).
I know you are normally so upbeat you'll get through this hun, I'll be thinking of you

Another Diabetes Hater here, I was diagnoised about 6 mos ago type, I too struggle with ups and downs (Mostly Ups). I guess that this goes along with it. I eat right, exercise, take my meds, and still yo-yo, I know that stress plays a big role in it going up which that is mostly my problem. It scares me to death too. My daddy died from complications from his diabetes in 1986. I was destine to have it as it runs strongly with my family. I worry about my children having it. I found out that my daughter who is 18 has Gestational diabetes.... which has added STRESS on Me. It is a very depressing to be a diabetic I guess since Life has handed us lemons..... we make LEMON-Aide.
But We can Beat this with alot of hard work & Prayers.

I suffer with you and don't enjoy knowing that too low or too high blood sugar could make me pass out. Plus the other complications. It's a complicated disease. Here's to both of us beating this thing. -- Lou
