I read that 70 procent of people are sensitive to certain foods and overats if they have them - it was A dr Kessler who was quoted in a spark blog and I am not sure of the procent number but it was anyway a very high number... and I thougt that being a compulsive overeater was nor nomral - but according to Kesslers number it is! Although of course 70 procent of all people are not overweight or bulimic, many people can obviously control the urge to overeat when the sensitive nutriotion comes along (I´m swedish so excuse my english ok?)
In the morning news I hear that an american survey concludes that people living nearby fastfood restaurants are fatter than people not living clos to them. The same survey shows that people with cars are more overweight than people without cars - BUT - peolpe witout cars living close to fast food places are more overweight than peole with cars living in other areas.
To me this proves that surroundings are important. The "fatwave" we have in the world is not because pople has gotten more sloppy or stupid - it´s because unhealthy food is mor available all times.
I live in the country, I have a twentyminute cardrive to my closest MacDonalds - only five minutes bikeride to a pizzeria but luckily enough I stopped eating pizza five years ago!
