Well its been a month since i broke my wrist. Just before this happened I made a new plan, it included more exercises, water drinking and getting at least a weekly blog done. I have not really been able to do that, but I was determined to get this blog in this week. last day but here it is lol.
Update on wrist:
wednesday, i had first visit with phy therapist. she changed out the light cast for one that is easier to remove. checked my ability to move, gave me exercises to do 3-4 times a day. i am to only use the sling when really needed, stop babying my wrist. use it for light activities. i am to walk and get my arm moving, easier without anything on it and to raise my arm up and over my head to stretch elbow and shoulder, oh yeah and wave my arm. work at getting the bandages off the incision, so that it will finish healing.
her name is brenda and she is going to work my wrist in no uncertain terms. i know its for the best and i need the pushing, but i am still afraid some and feeling rather timid. I see her once a week for now.
thursday was big day, drove the car, went in look for special pavers to finish upper part of yard, visited my volunteer job and plan to get back to that next week(i really miss it), stop at grocery store, small stop. I have done one set of exercises and after a break will get another. I am doing fine most days, not really taking pain meds maybe once a day, but not everyday.
yard update:
Bob is fine excited to get the yard close to being done, we hired his stepson, jeremy to help and in the last couple weeks it was changed and is nearing completion. we are hoping to plant this weekend, i am hoping i can help, too. we were going to put off finishing the upper part of the yard, really didnt think we would have time to finish it before the fall, but with jeremy's help it is moving along quickly. lol injection of youth!! so got the large pavers and i am so glad that means we will finish all but the new upper walkway, which was planned for the spring. It is looking like a yard again. Once we are done will finally be able to really clean the house, right now just lots of dust all the time!!
Thursday we had to take tuffy, one of our 3 cats to vet, he has been no himself for a couple days. really worried. all are cats are older, hubby had them since kittens. Friday found out he has diabetes and pancreatitis, insulin injections, special diet and antibiotics. biggest problem is that he really was not eating, and this bog boy loves to eat normally. thursday we tried cooked poultry, others loved it not him. vet gave us special food and woohoo he is eating, honestly happy dance. they think it will it is controllable and may go into remission.
In general its been a heck of a month around here. I have been keeping up with food tracking, after accident readjusted my activities levels, which lowered intake. I am trying to get back up to pre accident exercising, not there. I have lost some weight which I am happy but surprised about. I am also working to get back to being on spark more, now that I am feeling better. I have not been good and miss talking to friends and getting into chatrooms.
I am working at my original plan, needs a little modification and can wait to get back fully on track. I know I will not reach 250 by my wedding anniversary in a month, but i am ok with that. I do have 5 lbs to go till i reach 50 total lbs lost. I am hoping to get to that. but i will need to get to work on exercising to make it. keep good thoughts fir me.
tine to get dressed and have some breakfast. i have grocery shopping to do this morning, then i might try the pool, want to keep trying to work that now that cast is off.
i love you all and daily thankful for SP and the friends i have found,!!!! you are what make this journey fun!!!!
have a great day and give yourself a hug we are sooooooooooo worth it!

Happy to hear that Physical therapy went well. I am sure that Brenda will get you back to normal real soon. Also happy to see there was no horror story to share from your 1st visit.

I am sorry to hear about Tuffy. I never heard of a cat or any other animal for that matter getting diabetes. I only thought that was a human condition. emoticon

Great attitude about nor meeting your intended goal weight by your Wedding Anniversary. However, I am quite sure that you feel 100% better than last year and emoticon on losing almost 50 pounds so far. That is a great accomplishment!
