Life Has Dealt Me Mountains

LIfe has dealt me mountains, but I scale them one by one.
May was the last time I blogged after having a pace maker put in. It is working pretty good.
I had surgery last year to take a ganglion cyst out of my foot and I contracted a MRSA infection which caused deep scarring of my foot . It caused pain because the scar tissue wouldn't give when my foot moved for walking etc. . I had another surgery on it to clean up the mess the infection had caused about 4 weeks ago and I am having healing problems. This means I have to be extra careful not to pull or twist or do anything that will pull this suture line to separate it.
As if all of this has not been enough, my stomach has herniated back up into my chest for the 3rd time. I have a new surgeon who is going to go in and use mesh this time hoping that it will work better. Sutures alone just doesn't work.
All of this has hampered me from being able to exercise and work on my weight issues like I would like. This all being said, I want everyone to know that I have not given up on myself. I have managed to keep my weight from soaring back up. I have gained back about 5 pounds of the 13 pounds I lost up till February of this year. This is a great blessing for me, as in the past, I have gained more than 20 pounds in a month or two. So to only gain back five in since May of this year is not bad.
I have been trying to eat healthy this summer, eating lots of vegetables and fruits . I like summer because you can buy these items fresh and at a lower cost than in the winter.
Spark people has kept me grounded during all of this. The articles of encouragement and information to keep me from losing track of what I want and need to keep me healthy as possible. I plan to keep climbing my mountains until God calls me home. Giving up is not in my vocabulary.
I still move and stretch as much as possible, the parts of my body that I am able to move. I also keep exercising my mind as well. These small exercises which seem not to be anything for others have become a big deal to me. They keep me moving enough to help out physically and emotionally. The little movements and exercises that I am able to do also help to keep my pain levels lower. If you find yourself in these types of situations, work on what you can do and don't worry about the things you can't. You will be so pleasantly surprised at how much better you will feel!
I have learned that it isn't what life has dealt you, but what you do with what life has dealt you that counts. I choose to make the most of every situation. If you are faced with mountains climb them one at a time. You will eventually get to the top. It is beautiful up there and you will feel a great since of accomplishment.
My best goes to all of you. Keep up all your hard work. the rewards are great!
