Did it anyway and glad I did!

Thursday, September 03, 2009

I got a good nights sleep. No yappy dogs. No tv. I'm thinking I might take the tv out of the bedroom. I seem to be sleeping much better.

The day started off good. Thursday's are pretty hectic at work and today was worse being Monday is a holiday. Everything got done.

We were suppose to have scattered thunderstorms emoticon after 12:00 but it was more like 9:30. I thought great, keep it up. I won't feel guilty about not walking tonight. Can't walk or shouldn't walk when there's the possibility of lightening strikes. It cleared off and the emoticon came out about a half hour before work was over. The sun was shining as I drove home. I thought to myself...Girlfriend, get your butt downtown and walk with "Team 13". It's beautiful outside. You couldn't have ask for a more perfect evening to walk. emoticon Am I glad I did. I had the ipod playing some fast tunes. I got 4 miles in right at 60 minutes. 15 minute miles. emoticon My goal is to get under 15 for the 10K Sept 12th.

Great pace. I can do a 15 miles, but my 5k and 10ks tend to be 17 minute miles at best. And yes, I am a walker, not a runner. With my asthma and the hills around here, I think I will stay a walker.

Good Job! Funny how happy we are when we make ourselves get out there and do it, isn't it?

It starts out like that...I remember getting to 15 minute miles about June 2008. Now I'm clicking in right around 10. Progress comes slow but as you work toward what you want, you will achieve it as long as you stay true to yourself and your goals.

Best wishes to you on realizing your dreams and goals!

I use to have the TV in our bedroom as well, but decided the bedroom was for sleeping, not for watching TV, so moved it out. I found that I slept better with the TV gone.
