No smoking!

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

This is my 3rd week without smoking. I am taking chantix. I should have done this a long time ago, but I listened too much to what others were having a reaction to this medication. Suicidal tendencies, sickness...vivid nightmares and dreams and others. Well I will let you know that I have had none of these side effects. I still go out with my smoking friends on break and It doesn't even bother me. It's like I have never smoked in the first place. My breathing is clearer, when I exercise at the gym I am less winded. I Just wanted to share my success. I never thought I would ever be able to do this, especially after smoking for 30 plus years. emoticon

Oh my gosh - I could have written this blog. Wednesday started my third week as well. I'm taking Chantix too. I'd say the only thing different for me is that I don't take the pill at night because I kept waking up because of the dreams so my sleep was not very restful. So, I'm just taking one pill a day. I am just thrilled to be a non-smoker now!!!!

Thank you all for your encouragement. I have good days and bad days. Gained 5 lbs since I stopped smoking. I have to be diligent with my food journal, take more time preparing meals. I will be back on track in no time

    Hi,

Congratulations! Big Time! I am truly happy for you. I am on Well Butron, with no side effects and did great for 3 months. My S.O. ended up critically ill and in the hospital and with the stress, I fell off the wagon. I am so angry with my self. I really don't want to Smoke. I make excuses, and say, "oh well, only 2 a day isn't bad". Deep in my heart I know I am lying to myself. I have so much more energy, and can smell so much better without the smokes. I am already loosing it again! Your blog is encouraging and I know it is time to get back on the wagon. Thanks for sharing this blog with us. Wish me Luck. I am proud of you, don't do like me and fall.
