Reflections on yesterday's eating

Thursday, July 23, 2009

Ok, so I am trying to clean it up with my eating. I got a little off-track. Not as bad as I used to be, but NOT good, not good by any means. I need to confess my recent weaknesses. NOTE: DO NOT BUY THESE FOOD ITEMS FOR YOUR HOUSE OR YOU WILL GAIN WEIGHT...unless you have an amazing sense of control. For me, success is about 30% grocery store, 20% fitness, 40% eating out choices, and 10%...well, I have a leftover 10%. Maybe what money I have in my desk at work. I'm more likely to get something out of the vending machines if I come to work with coins or one dollar bills.

OK - here they are:
Edy's chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream
Target (Archer Farms) vanilla and raspberry sandwich cookies

Well, that's it. I thought there were more, but that is all. I do have some chips and queso dip that are sitting idle. I think I am going to throw them away before vacation. They are both open.

Other than being a little bit lacking in nutrition, my eating yesterday was decent. And so far so good for today.

Edy's has a tasty Cookies & Cream ice cream that's just 110 calories per 1/2 cup serving. Of course, it's still dangerous if a person can't limit themselves to a half-cup, I suppose. I have a half cup, then chew on a piece of sugarless gum for about a half hour. That usually satisfies my sweet tooth without screwing up the daily menu.

I like your percentages of success breakdown. I expect that's probably pretty close to true for a lot of us!

Always temptations. I've been eating ice cream sandwiches but only have 1. The Blue Bunny has the same calories as the Skinny Cow, surprise. Cookies...how can something so small pack so much punch? In part because NOBODY ever eats a "serving" size (like 3 cookies). I keep graham crackers in the house now and I'm thinking about animal crackers for at work but even those, watch on the serving size: they put 2 servings in a bag...tracking calories and servings will keep you honest though, so good work and good luck!

I am sending you telepathic messages. Do not eat too much ice cream. Do not eat too much ice cream. And if you can't stop with a small portion, don't eat it at all.

Ice cream is a weakness!! Yesterday I made homemade brownies for the guys, I hope they eat them all up today!
I learned to keep only food that is healthy, I got rid of everything else. But this summer I've bought food that is my weakness and I'm paying for it. :( It's a hard journey!

Step away from the queso dip!!! Better to waste it and not "waist" it!!!
