I Tried Something New!

Yesterday I decided that I would workout extra hard at the gym. I planned to do a little extra strength training and to increase the intensity of my cardio routine on the elliptical machine. After 45 mins of cardio a gym buddy invited me to his spinning class. I went into the class intent on staying only 5-10 minutes and then calling it quits for the day. I had never taken a spinning class before and was reluctant to do so because I suffer from arthritis in both knees and the thought of pedalling sent shivers down my spine. I coaxed myself into going in despite my fears. Once I made it through the first 10 minutes of spinning I convinced myself to stay ten minutes more. After those 10 minutes, I decided I'd stay another ten minutes. Needless to say, I managed to stay for the entire 45 minute class. I took it 10 minutes at a time which helped me reach the finish line. I am proud of my success. I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new. It was hard work, but I enjoyed it. I plan to go spinning Saturday morning. I hear the Saturday class is more challenging. I can't wait!
