If at first you don't succeed

Friday, July 17, 2009

Hi everyone,
this is the 2nd time I have tried to lose 80 lbs. I guess I just wasn't ready. Well I was looking at an 2 year old picture. of me and my family and really was disgusted with myself. I wasn't in need (in my mind) of losing 80 lbs at that time. REALLY looking at the pic made me realize that life is too short not to look and feel the way you want. (pic is on my spark page) So I'm back. Need all the help I can get.

Don't focus on the weight-loss. Focus on what you want to be and how you want to live....Then determine how you are going to get there. The journey might be long and difficult with my twists and turns.... but believe me it is worth it. I have lost 80 lbs more times than I want to ackwnoledge but this time will be the last time. Make it your last time too. We are there for you. Create your healthy lifestyle program and just go. YOU ARE WORTH IT!! emoticon

Thanks for the reply on my spark page.

I lost 35 pounds with Sparkpeople about 2 years ago, and then just fell off the wagon. Luckily, I haven't gained it all back! It is totally possible to lose it once you find what motivates you! What helps me is to have motivational pictures in front of me. There's a really cool virtual model on fitnessmagazine.com that shows a computer generated model of what you look like now, and what you will look like once you reach your goal weight. I printed both of those off and keep them both at work and at home in places where I'm likely to be "snacking" to help me remember that I need to be aware of and log everything (no matter how small) into my nutrition page.

Another thing that helps me is joining "challanges" on the message board. There are a lot of different challanges you can join (both long term and short term) with people who will help to keep you motivated!

Good Luck! You can do it!
