I'm so ashamed of myself

Sunday, July 05, 2009

I'm sitting here and I can't believe it. I have been letting myself go so bad. I have been at children's camp last week and actually gained one pound. Here I thought with all the walking up and down the hills all day long I would at least maintain, but NO. Of course eating bacon and eggs in addition to a bowl of raisin bran for breakfast compared to just a bowl can have something to do with it. And of course it doesn't stop there. This weekend for the 4th we went to VA to be with hubby's family and I ate literally all day yesterday. I'm not just saying that, I felt so bad that I could hardly walk upright without my tummy hurting. But do you think that stopped me today from eating freaking Burger K*ng??? NOPE. I got on the scale and I gained about 6-7 lbs. Wonderful, what takes me 3-4 weeks to get rid of, I gained in less than a week.
If there is anyone out there reading this, please pray for me. I know I'm down right now, but the Lord will lift me up.

Well, hope everyone had a good 4th weekend.
God bless

Wow!! I give you props for admitting you let yourself go for a bit...I've been out of touch with Spark People for over like geez 6-8 months. I don't even know the last time I logged on...until this afternoon that is...now, i'm ready and I'm going to make sure I do it this time! (: So, keep up the great work and I will follow in your footsteps and make footsteps of my own!!! Have a fabulous week....

    A couple things:
First, don't beat yourself up. The true mark of a winner is someone who can take a beating and get back up to continue the fight. If you had the corage to start this journey, and to get online with SPARK, then you have the courage and support to get beyond this MINOR setback and carry on to your goal. All of us here have days like that. That's why we're here, to help each other.
Second, do you like to read? I highly recommend a book called "Perfectly Yourself" by Matthew Kelly. He is a motivational speaker that talks about working to be the best version of yourself and ties a healthy lifestyle into it. One theme in this particular book talks about "Do the Next Right Thing". Life is totally about choices. Everytime you go to reach for food, you have to ask yourself, "Is this food going to help me be the best version of myself?"
Don't give up and don't get down. We are here to help each other create the best versions of ourselves. emoticon
