Father's Day Blues

Monday, June 22, 2009

Yesterday was Father's Day and for me it was not a good day for me since my dad has been deceased since 1998. Every year it doesn't bother me as much, but some years are worst than others. I guess maybe it all depends on what is going on in my life at the time that could be stressing me out and I know that if my father was still alive it would be different as far as whatever I am going through. My father and I were" two peas in a pod," I was daddy's girl and I really, really miss that.

So all of you who still have your father's and have good relationships with them, enjoy it, because the day, the hour or tomorrow is not promised for any of us.

Tearing up just reading this. I lost my father in 1992 when I was 18. I still miss him so much to this day. Father's day is always hard for me as well. A lot of times, I just go out and sit at the cemetary. If I ever have a bad day, that's usually where you'll find me. I find it peaceful there. I know he would have been so proud of me and I would have loved for him to have been able to see me as a mother, but I know he's watching me from above, just like your dad is watching over you.

    Hugs to you.

I loved hearing you say that you miss your Daddy so much. My Dad was 86 yesterday and he's always been such an integral part of my life. I put a picture of him on my page in celebration. I feel so fortunate....and I'm very sorry you don't have him around in body. But......babygirl....you have him in your heart and soul!!!!!!!!!! He is smiling down at YOU! Know it! XO MaryAnn emoticon

it sounds like you had a great relation ship with your father
    you are very lucky
my father chooses not to bother with me
    his choice not mine
so maybe on father's dad you could set back and thing about the things you enjoyed doing with him when he was hear
share them with your kids or grandkids if you have any
